ACER GARDEN

East Sheen

This large garden in East Sheen had an unused brick built garage dominating the rear of the property. We removed this and were able to regain an additional two meters of garden by building a fence onto the original property line.

The idea was to encourage people to use the full extent of the garden by having a patio to the rear of the property which was softened with tropical themed planting and dark stained horizontal batten. The batten also serves as a screen for a storage shed. A weather resistant, sectional sofa provides ample seating.

A small deck was built immediately off the house for more impromptu, casual outdoor eating and the two areas were connected with low maintenance artificial grass ideally suited to the client’s young children and busy lives.

New fencing was installed around the whole perimeter and climbing Jasmine plants, trained on stainless steel wire, will eventually spread to cover the fence and soften the boundary. The beautiful, well established Japanese Maple was left in place and this provides an area of shade close to the decking.
